Many people across the valley took advantage of warm Saturday afternoon by making their way downtown for the 10th annual Federal Frenzy.
Close to 50 local vendors, and food trucks, and a slew of musical performances. The event, put on by Penguin Productions is comprised of YSU students looking to connect other students, businesses and local talent through high quality experiences.
"It showcases a lot of the local bands here. It showcases Youngstown State University. All the talent, the creativity that we have--not just Youngstown State but the local community as itself.", said Tim Pappagallo of Penguin Productions.
One of those businesses, Penguin City Brewing who got to be the host location for the second year in a row. The owner says their partnership with YSU is not only helping them but others too.
"I love the turnout, this is great--it brings local musicians together. This brings the community together, this is huge this is everything we want out of our building and our business.", Aspasia Lyras, owner of Penguin City Brewing explained.
The students responsible for pulling this off get real life experience that come with booking performances, hospitality, marketing and outreach, but also getting people out and giving them a good time.
"I think the city is very alive and breathing and this here is a testament to that.", said Jack Kovacs, who tells 21 News he enjoyed the atmosphere.
