Warren reaches agreement with tavern owner to permanently close after homicide

The City of Warren has reached an agreement with the owner of a bar where a man was fatally shot to close the business permanently.

Warren Safety Services Director tells 21 News the agreement was reached between the owner of Park Place 24 Tavern on Parkman Road and the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office to permanently shut the business down.

The tavern was the site of the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Nathaniel Bradley the morning of Monday, May 13. Police suspect 26-year-old Zaa-Von Hameed to be the one behind the shooting.

Warren Law Director Enzo Cantalamessa tells 21 news following the homicide, the owner of the tavern was contacted by the city and was given one of two options: either close the bar voluntarily and put their liquor license in safekeeping or have the establishment be declared a nuisance and forcefully shut down through a court order.

The owners had chosen to voluntarily close the establishment. Cantalamessa says this bar is a known trouble area in the city with police being called out there for problems numerous times.

Colbert tells 21 News the bar has not been open since the homicide and will not reopen.
