Watts: Named Gatorade Ohio Softball Player of the Year

Austintown Fitch's Sydnie Watts is the 2023-24 Gatorade Ohio Softball Player of the Year.  She becomes the first from Fitch to win the award.

She led the Falcons to their second straight Division I State Championship with a 23-1 record. Watts was 23-1 with a 0.53 earned run average, with 279 strikeouts while allowing 27 hits in 133.3 innings.

At the plate she hit .479 with 13 homers, 48 runs batted in and was ranked as the nation's No.12 recruit in the nation by Max Preps in the Class of 2025.

Watts has verballed to play at Georgia Tech.
