What first was reported as a shooting, turned out to be a stabbing on Youngstown's Southside late Thursday.

Police tell 21 News that a fight broke out in the street on Cameron Avenue east of South Avenue at around 5:30 p.m.

A woman was wounded by what police first thought was a bullet.  Once the victim was taken to the hospital it was determined she had been stabbed.

Police say the female is in stable condition at this time. Her name has not been released by police.

In the past week alone, Youngstown saw three different homicides in various parts of the city.

Additionally, Wednesday night saw an officer-involved shooting that left one person in critical condition.
