Large ice cream recall: Are any of these products in your freezer?

 Totally Cool Inc., a Maryland-based ice cream manufacturer, has issued a national recall for certain products under brand names like Friendly, Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery, Hershey’s Ice Cream, Yelloh!, Jeni's, Cumberland Farms, The Frozen Farmer, Marco, ChipWich, AMAFruits, Taharka, Dolcezza Gelato, and LaSalle.

Totally Cool is recalling multiple brands of ice cream products because of potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Individuals without health concerns may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Totally Cool, Inc. has stopped producing and distributing these products after an FDA sampling, which discovered the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The company is investigating and taking preventive actions.

This recall impacts no other products produced by Totally Cool, Inc.

Consumers who have recalled products in their possession are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
