Explosives, hand grenade training to be conducted at National Guard Base near Newton Falls

Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center, located between Ravenna and Newton Falls, will conduct explosives and hand grenade training beginning this week and continuing through next Friday.

The Ohio Army National Guard military base will utilize explosives during training conducted by several units throughout the state beginning this Thursday, July 11, and running through Friday, July 19.

Residents and business owners near Camp James A. Garfield may notice increased blast noise from the area.
