Mahoning Valley Historical Society to host scavenger hunt, road trip competition next month

History Buffs with a knack for competition and racing have something to rev their engines about next month.

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is hosting its 10th annual Amazing History Race on August 9.

It will test contestant's knowledge of history in the area and begin at 5 p.m.

Contestants will meet at the Tyler History Center and get a set of clues directing them to six different historic sites throughout the Mahoning Valley.

The first one back with all the correctly identified sites wins the Amazing History Race 10 Trophy.

A smart phone or digital camera is required for this event to record the landmarks as proof.

Following the event, a pizza party will held for all those involved.

Admission for the event is $8 per person, $6 for seniors 60 and over and students between the age of 5 and 13. Children under the age of 4 are free, according tot he historical society.
