Some roadways in Mercer County are getting state grants to update their traffic signals.
More than $775,000 is being allocated to update the signals in Hermitage and Sharon.
Hermitage is receiving $430,000 to update the traffic lights at Broadway and Council Avenues. Other signal upgrades are planned for Broadway Avenue's intersections with Mercer Avenue, Church Street and Emerson Avenue.
Sharon is receiving more than $345,000 for signal improvements at Service, Smith, South Myers and Stambaugh Avenues and Pine Hollow Boulevard.
The funding is part of the "Green Light-Go" program which gives reimbursements to municipalities for traffic signal efficiency and operation improvements.
In total, more than $30 million is being spread out across 73 municipalities throughout Pennsylvania.
