Metro Church Youngstown 'Summer Adventure Camp' Aug. 5

A free, community-wide event is being offered to area kiddos looking for something to do before the school year begins again.

Metro Church Youngstown is hosting a youth-outreach program called "Summer Adventure Camp," for children in Pre-K through sixth grade.

The faith-based event will offer games, food, prizes and fun education opportunities, according to a news release from Metro.

"It's an excellent tool we use to reach out into the community," said Olivia Yanno, the Metro kids director. "It's Metro's personal way of inviting our neighbors and those who may not otherwise cross the threshold of our facility doors."

Kids attending will get the chance to make friendships and find mentorship.

The five-day event begins August 5 and goes through August 9 at the Metro Assembly of God.

It will be held each evening between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
