Suspected gas leak spurs evacuation, road closure in North Jackson

A manufacturing plant in western Mahoning County has been evacuated and a road has been shut down because of a possible natural gas leak.

Workers at Liberty Steel were told to leave the plant after the odor of gas was detected at around 11 a.m. Monday.

Enbridge Natural Gas has been called and Mahoning Avenue was blocked off west of Route 45.
