A 24-year-old Bristolville woman faces half a dozen charges after Warren Police say she led them on a chase before crashing into a house.

Officers say Zoey Hallam sped away after a police cruiser pulled alongside her Chevy Suburban at a gas station on the corner of Parkman Road and Summit Street Monday afternoon. Police had been called to investigate a report of a woman sleeping in a vehicle.

Police spotted the Suburban again on West Market Street near Austin Avenue and chased it to the Avon Oaks apartment complex where the SUV was backing into a parking spot.

When the officer got out of the cruiser and ordered the woman to stop, he says she drove toward him, forcing him to jump out of the way to avoid being struck.

Another officer spotted the Suburban on North Leavitt Road but lost sight of it until learning that it had crashed into a house on the 300 block of Pangborn Road in Leavittsburg.

The driver was gone from the SUV. However, police found Hallam hiding in some brush.

Hallam was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a police officer, felonious assault, resisting arrest, reckless operation, driving under suspension, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

She pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to appear in Warren Municipal Court again next week.
