Fallen power lines cause 4,500 outages in Mahoning, Columbiana Counties

More than 4,500 homes and businesses in Mahoning and Columbiana County spent part of Friday without electricity.

Police in Beaver Township say power lines fell at around 10:30 a.m. along East South Range Road.

According to the FirstEnergy website, 4,063 outages were reported in Mahoning County, with most of those in Beaver and Springfield Townships.

 

Other communities with prominent outages include New Middletown with 179, Green Township with 57 and Poland with 50.

Columbiana County had 458 outages. Most of those were in Unity Township

FirstEnergy is working to restore power by 1 p.m.
