Pastor Michael Harrison led the men in prayer before they began their walk down Indianola Avenue to Florida to South Avenue.

All men were dressed in suits.

Each of the men answered the question, "Who loves their family," with "Black men do." "Who is successful? Black men are.

These men have all taken steps to attain success in the highest elected position in the city as Youngstown Mayor, City Clerk, Pastors, and Entrepreneurs. Their goal today is to inspire kids and teens with each step.

"That they can be anything they want to be. If they want to be the mayor, the pastor, the police chief, they can be that.

We just want to let them know even coming out of Youngstown great things can come out of Youngstown. They just got to put thier heart and mind to that. And we want to help them facilitate their dreams and aspirations," Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito-Brown said.

They want to show the youth they came from similar backgrounds in Youngstown and found ways to avoid violence and drugs.

By walking this walk these successful men hope to motivate kids and teens to say, "Hey I can do that!"

I've had so many before me. And you have to have that example in order to attain success and say yes I can do that," said Youngstown Clerk of Courts, Richard Vincent Hill.

The next step is inviting the city's youth to an event called "The Gathering," at the Eugenia Atkinson Center September 21st at 10 a.m.

The goal is to engage youth to become future leaders.

"There are some good young people out there. They just need an opportunity and they need to see mentors. They need to see somebody who looks like them who are succeeding," Pastor at Union Baptist Church, Michael Harrison said.
