VIDEO: Troopers rescue kitten on highway in Stark County

Drivers might see all sorts of unexpected sights on the highway, and one of those unexpected sights recently resulted in an animal's life being saved.

"It looks like there's a cat that's alive up against the cement median," said a woman who called the Ohio State Highway Patrol's (OSP's) Stark County post August 21.

That call led troopers to the side of I-77, where they found an injured kitten walking on the side of the busy highway near the median.

Body camera video released of the rescue shows a trooper grabbing a yellow vest from his cruiser to pick up the kitten and rescue it from the busy highway as traffic rushed by.

According to OSP, the cat was taken to an emergency vet clinic followed by the Stark County Humane Society to be put up for adoption.
