A home improvement store in Boardman is among more than 400 LL Flooring locations being closed around the country as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, according to multiple news reports.

Retail Dive is among several outlets to report that the company, once known as Lumber Liquidators, is going out of business and closing all its stores after failing to find a buyer.

The only LL Flooring in the Valley is at 7661 South Avenue in Boardman.

The company is holding going-out-of-business sales at its stores on Thursday, September 12, according to court documents.

Gift certificates and gift cards will be honored only until September 19, 2024.

Lumber Liquidators stock plunged in 2016 after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that people exposed to certain types of the company's laminate flooring were three times more likely to get cancer than the agency previously predicted.
