We're learning more details on a Friday evening standoff in a Boardman neighborhood that resulted in a father and son getting arrested.
According to a police report, police received a call shortly before 4 p.m. Friday about a domestic violence incident involving a gun on the 1800 block of Alverne Drive.
The caller told police she believed her son, identified as 47-year-old Aaron Rose (pictured below) had a gun and was threatening to kill his father and brother.
When police got to the home, the victim further told officers her and Aaron got into a verbal argument earlier in the day. The victim said Aaron started throwing things around the room and eventually came back with a rifle saying "I'm going to shoot you."
That's when the victim locked herself in a bathroom and called 911.
Police soon found Aaron and detained him in a wooded area on Cover Drive and Sheridan Road. After giving officers consent to search the home for firearms via a phone call, police seized several firearms, as well as ammunition from the home.
Aaron is charged with one count of domestic violence / threat. He was arraigned Tuesday morning and is due back in court for a pretrial on October 3.
During the investigation of the home, Aaron's father, identified as Herbert Rose arrived back at the house.
According to the report, police told him he could not go inside the home due to an active emergency involving firearms, but he became argumentative and continued to drive towards the house.
Police say they had to pull Herbert out of the car where he continued to resist arrest. Herbert is charged with misconduct at an emergency scene and resisting arrest.
He was also arraigned on these charges on Tuesday and is due back in court for a pretrial October 3.
