Former Poland Township Trustee, owner of Ludt's Towing dead at 84

A former Poland Township Trustee who owned and operated a towing company in the Mahoning Valley has died at 84.

Former Poland Township Trustee and owner and operator of Ludt's Towing David Ludt died on Wednesday, September 25.

According to Ludt's obituary, Ludt operated Ludt's Towing with his brother John C. Ludt Jr. The company was founded in 1945.

The obituary goes on to state during Ludt's time as a Poland Township Trustee, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Poland Towsnhip Police Department.

He had also previously served as a Mahoning County Commissioner, as well as the U.S. Army's Special Forces as a Green Beret in the 82nd Airborne division.

Private services have already been held and Ludt is now buried at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
