Two businesses in the valley have received more than $500,000 in grants to improve and expand how they harvest and process meat.
Those businesses are C&J Meats in Columbiana County and Robs Horst Packing in Mahoning County.
Specifically, C&J Meats got $65,741 and Robs Horst packing got $500,000.
Funding is part of a larger $14 million investment through the Ohio Meat Processing Grant Program.
More than 50 companies across the state got money, which will be used for the construction f new facilities or upgrades to existing ones, according to a news release from Gov. Mike DeWine's office.
