State Troopers are investigating a fatal pickup truck crash that shut down part of State Route 5 in Trumbull County for part of Saturday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 47-year-old Jim Miller Jr. of Jamestown, Pennsylvania died when his Chevy S-10 struck a tree off Route 5, west of Old State Route 5 in Johnston Township at around 4:30 a.m.

Troopers say Miller was the only person in the truck and alcohol or drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the crash.

A stretch of State Route 5 was closed for three-and-a-half hours while the crash was being investigated.
