Newton Falls man pleads guilty to leaving toddler alone with dangerous dog

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - A Newton Falls man pled guilty on Tuesday to leaving a toddler alone in a room with a dangerous dog.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 26-year-old Jonah Fisher pled guilty to two misdemeanor counts of endangering children. He will be sentenced on a later date.
The charges stem from an incident back in March when Braceville Police say Fisher along with 26-year-old Destany Myers left a two-year-old in a room alone with a dog they knew to be dangerous.
Police say the dog attacked the child, who needed emergency medical treatment for serious injuries. Police went on to say the child's living conditions were unsanitary to the point of being a health hazard.
According to the report, police told Fisher he had to quarantine the dog and he responded that the dog had been relocated to the home after "snapping on" his dad when he stuck his hand between the dog and another dog it was fighting.
Myers has yet to plead in this case. She's expected to appear for a pretrial hearing Wednesday, October 16.
