Meander Golf Course auction concluded, sold for $302,000

Last month, 21 News reported that the Meander Golf Course in North Jackson was going up for auction. Now, that auction has concluded.

According to a press release, the opening bid was $90,000 and final winning bid was $302,000 plus a 10% premium. The buyer now has 45 days to complete the sale.

The name of the buyer was not disclosed in the release.

The 43.9-acre course features nine holes, a 1,152-square-foot club house, a newer 80x40 foot pole building, a parking lot, a putting green and ponds. The course opened in 1968 and is still open for play and operating.

The site could continue to be used as a golf course or be redeveloped.

There is no word yet on what the buyer intends to do with the property.
