Kravitz Deli brings back Big Reuben Challenge for 2024

Lovers of Reuben sandwiches can test their eating skills at Kravitz Deli because the Big Reuben Challenge is back again November 1.

To celebrate National Sandwich Day, Kravitz Deli will hold a Sandwich Extravaganza offering a six-ounce piled high sandwich for $12.99.

Additionally, the deli will host the Big Reuben Challenge where participants will have one hour to devour a sandwich with one pound of old-fashioned deli rye bread packed with one pound of corned beef, a quarter pound of Swiss cheese, a half pound of sauerkraut or coleslaw, a half cup of Thousand Island dressing, one pound of house-cut fries and a 16-ounce draft beer or fountain soda.

If you can finish all that within one hour, your meal is absolutely free. You will also receive a commemorative t-shirt, a Kravitz Deli cap and a $15 Kravitz Deli gift card.

Kravitz Deli owner Matt Rydarowicz says there were plenty of great attempts last year, but no one came close to completing the challenge.

"This year we made it a bit more achievable, though it's still no easy feat," Rydarowicz said.
