Suspicious fire destroys small barn in Slippery Rock Township

A fire destroyed a small barn in Lawrence County Saturday evening. 

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Shaffer Road in Slippery Rock Township. 

More than half a dozen departments responded to the barn, which was engulfed in flames when they arrived. 

The Slippery Rock Township Fire Chief said the fire looks suspicious since there were no utilities running into the barn. 

The fire marshal is expected to be on scene Monday to investigate.
