Lake Milton man has court date set on rape, attempted rape charges involving minors

A 42-year-old Lake Milton man is facing a jury trial in December for 13 felony charges including rape, attempted rape and gross sexual imposition that stem from a little over a year ago to 17 years ago.

Mason Schneider was secretly indicted in September and is now charged with two counts of rape (F1); three counts of attempted rape (F2); five counts of gross sexual imposition (F4); two counts of attempted gross sexual imposition (F5); and one count of compelling prostitution.

Schneider is charged with felony charges involving six minors between the ages of 11 to 17 years old.

According to court filings, Schneider is charged with:

• In count one and two rape charges — between March 17, 2007 and March 16, 2010 — Schneider is accused with having sex with a minor who was 15 to 17 years old at the time, through force or threat of force.
• Count three: attempted rape — from May 1, 2012 through July 31, 2012 —allegedly attempted to engage in sexual conduct with the same person by force or threat.
• Count four: gross sexual imposition — from May 1, 2012 through July 31, 2012 — for alleged sexual contact with the alleged victim by force or threat of force.
• Count five: attempted gross sexual imposition — between February 21, 2013 through February 20, 2015 — alleged attempted sexual contact with a minor was 11 to 13 years old at the time, through force or threat of force.
• Count six: attempted rape — between October 27, 2013 through November 30, 2013 — allegedly attempted to engage in sexual conduct with a 16-year-old with a mental or physical condition.
• Count seven: gross sexual imposition — between October 27, 2013 through November 30, 2013 —alleged attempted sexual contact with a 16-year-old with a mental or physical condition.
• Count eight: gross sexual imposition — between July 24, 2015 through July 23, 2016 — alleged attempted sexual contact with a 16-year-old with a mental or physical condition.
• Count nine: gross sexual imposition — between May 1, 2015 through July 1, 2016 — alleged attempted sexual contact with a minor who was 16 to 17 years old at the time, with a mental or physical condition.
• Count ten: attempted gross sexual imposition — January 1, 2016 through October 26, 2017 — alleged attempted sexual contact with a minor with a mental or physical condition.
• Count eleven: attempted rape — January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019 — allegedly attempted to engage in sexual conduct with a 16-year-old at the time, with a mental or physical condition.
• Count twelve: gross sexual imposition  — January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019 — alleged sexual contact with a 16-year-old at the time, with a mental or physical condition.
• Count thirteen: compelling prositution — April 19, 2022 through April 18, 2023 — on charge of allegedly hiring a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Schneider has a pre-trial hearing set for November 26 at 9 am in R. Scott Krichbaum's court, followed by a jury trial set for December 2 at 8:30 am.
