As you look to score the best deals while Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping, there are plenty of apps that can help you save or even earn money back. Here's everything you need to know.
21 News caught up with Youngstown State University Senior Marketing Lecturer John Rossi to talk about all of these apps.
Apps such as Rakuten, Ibotta RetailMeNot and Honey can help shoppers earn cash back while shopping with each one having its own pros and cons.
For example, Rossi says apps like Ibotta are great for grocery savings and cash back, and apps like Honey and RetailMeNot are more focused on coupons.
However, Rossi says there are some drawbacks to using these apps. For example, Rossi says one of the key concerns is actually earning cash back versus earning points and getting discounts and coupons.
Apps like Honey and RetaiMeNot have limited cash back options compared to others and apps like Dosh and Ibotta are limited only to certain stores.
No matter which app you choose though, Rossi had one warning for users.
"If the app is free, you are the product. They collect a lot of information, particularly these retail apps, about your shopping habits [and] what you're buying. So they have some data and you have to sign off on those privacy conditions and terms and conditions," Rossi said.
You can see a list of each app along with each one's pros and cons in the PDF below. You can scan the QR codes next to the apps to download them.
