Boardman police announces open application period for law enforcement officers

Are you a police officer and looking for a new opportunity?

Boardman Police and the Boardman Township Civil Service Commission are announcing an open application period from December 20 through January 20 for full-time entry-level police officers for the police department.

The open application event is for current OPOT-C certified police officers, recent police academy graduates, and those currently enrolled in an Ohio police academy or those enrolled by January 20.

There is no test for this application period.

Civil Service ranking will be determined by qualitative points( which include police employment service, education, veteran status, and completed training. It is anticipated that there will be an additional application/testing period later in 2025 open to all applicants.

Starting salary is $50,000+, lateral transfers start at $60,000+ and the department is offering a $3,000 hiring bonus. Applicants must be 21 years old and older and possess a valid Ohio Drivers License with a high school or GED diploma.
