Man with assault rifle flees from Liberty Police

Local authorities scoured a Liberty Township neighborhood early Tuesday after police say two men fled, one of whom was brandishing an assault weapon.

Liberty Police pulled a car over for an alleged traffic infraction at Mansell Drive and Fifth Avenue just after midnight when two men jumped out and ran.  Police say one of the men, carrying an assault rifle, ran toward Youngstown.

State Troopers and a K-9 tracking dog searched the area, but the two men could not be located.

Police are questioning two other men who remained in the car.
