Woman in hospital following shooting in Hermitage, suspect identified

A shooting in Hermitage put a woman in the hospital and a man being arrested.

Around 10 p.m. on Friday night, police responded to a call regarding a shooting on the 500 block of Cohassett Drive.

A woman had been hit by gunfire and was then life-flighted to a trauma center within the region. There is no word on her condition at this time.

According to an official statement from Deputy Chief Joel Ristvey, the suspect, identified as 62-year-old Van Michael was arrested with no resistance.

Police are emphasizing that this incident was isolated as they continue to investigate.
