Water erupts from fire hydrant in Youngstown

A geyser of water erupted from a fire hydrant in the 3000 block of Hudson Avenue near Clearmont in Youngstown just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A 21 News videographer at the scene said that there was heavy damage to the front end of a car nearby.

Crews that arrived on scene allowed Youngstown Police Department to turn off the water for the time being.

The Youngstown Police Department responder on scene was unable to comment at this time.
