If you have a favorite event that you want to see again at the next Johnny Appleseed Festival in Lisbon, you might want to make sure you take part in a survey.

The Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking community feedback on the annual festival through an online survey, and one of the questions asks respondents which events should be eliminated.

The survey, available on the chamber’s Facebook page, asks residents for their opinions on various aspects of the annual event, scheduled for Sept. 20-21, 2025.

Questions include recommendations for local bands and entertainment, preferred food and artisan vendors, and suggestions for improving the festival's set-up and arrangement. The survey also asks participants which events from previous festivals they would like to see return, and which events, if any, they believe should be eliminated.

Specific events listed for potential elimination include the pet parade/contest, quilt show, the Great Duck Race, JAF Has Talent Contest, apple pie contest, art contest, and pedal tractor activities. Respondents are also given the option to suggest other events for removal.

“As we begin to prepare for this much-anticipated event, we want to know your thoughts,” the chamber said in a statement accompanying the survey. “We value your opinion.”

The 57th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival is expected to feature entertainment, contests, food vendors, and children’s activities.

The chamber encourages residents to complete the survey and provide additional comments or suggestions. The survey can be accessed through a link on the Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
