YSU's Kilcawley: Centered on the Future Campaign has surpassed $8 million in 55 gifts and pledges, bringing total funding for Kilcawley Center renovations to over $22 million.

A key milestone in the university leadership's commitment to the campaign is the YSU Board of Trustees' 100% participation, contributing over $1.2 million.

The Board's engagement highlights the significance of the project, demonstrating their commitment to Kilcawley Center and investing in a vibrant campus environment for current and future students.

"Having the full support of the YSU Board of Trustees is a tremendous accomplishment and speaks volumes about the commitment we have to enhancing the student experience at Youngstown State University," said YSU President Bill Johnson.

He continues, "This renovation is about more than just upgrading a building—it's about investing in our students and ensuring they have the resources and spaces they need to succeed academically, socially and professionally. The Board's 100% participation is a powerful indicator of their belief in the transformative potential of this project."

The Kilcawley renovation is designed to provide modern, flexible spaces that foster collaboration, innovation and community.

"Kilcawley Center has been a cornerstone of student life at YSU for decades, and it's exciting to see our Board of Trustees fully invested in its future. I am grateful for their leadership, as well as their individual and collective support for the campaign," said Scott Schulick, Chairperson of the campaign and former YSU trustee.

He continues, "Their 100% personal participation in this campaign speaks to the importance of this renovation in shaping the future for our students and the community-at-large. The leadership of the Board of Trustees provides an excellent example and a challenge to others to support this critical project."

YSU Student Trustee Natalie Dando says, "As a student trustee, I've seen firsthand the importance of Kilcawley Center to our campus community."

She continues, "This renovation is a critical step in ensuring that future students have the tools and spaces they need to thrive. I am proud to be part of a university that is committed to investing in its students, and I'm excited to see this project come to life."

The campaign continues to grow with full participation from the board, setting an example for the YSU community and encouraging support for the Kilcawley: Centered on the Future Campaign.
