Former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, the current Minnesota Governor, is coming to the Valley for a town hall meeting.

Walz is conducting a national tour of town hall meetings in Republican-controlled districts, and the Mahoning County Democratic Party Chair Chris Anderson said Walz will hold one in the 6th District, which US Representative Mike Rulli oversees. The Town Hall is set for Monday at 6 p.m., and the location will be announced later.

Walz posted on the social media platform X in early March, saying, "If your Republican representative won’t meet with you because their agenda is so unpopular, maybe a Democrat will. Hell, maybe I will. If your congressman refuses to meet, I’ll come host an event in their district to help local Democrats beat ‘em."

Several Republican town halls have recently faced angry constituents in light of President Trumps cuts to government departments, and NBC News reported in late February, "Party leaders suggest that if lawmakers feel the need to hold such events, they do tele-town halls or at least vet attendees to avoid scenes that become viral clips, according to GOP sources."
