A Sharon man is on trial in Mercer County Common Pleas Court for his alleged part in the August shooting death of of 35-year-old Terran Page-Hughes, who was found shot in the head along the 800 block of Ravine Place and died later in the hospital.

Billy DeWayne Phillips, 33, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy, and aggravated assault.

Dispatchers received several calls about shots fired around Ravine Place and Quinby Street just before midnight on August 1, 2024.

When police and an ambulance arrived at an apartment on Ravine Place, they found a Page-Hughes who had been shot in the head. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to a criminal complaint, Odem was charged alongside co-defendants Billy Phillips and Jamel Jordan. The complaint alleges that Jamel Jordan and Daniel Odem went to Ravine Place to fight Page-Hughes, and police believe they are the suspects who shot and killed him.

Jordan faces trial on charges of criminal homicide, first-degree murder, and carrying a firearm without a license.

Charges against Odem were released because of what Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker said was a “problem” with a witness. Acker says he expects the case to be refiled.
