Residents warned of scammers impersonating Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce

Folks living in Mercer County are being warned of a scam involving suspects impersonating the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce.

A scam alert sent by Penn-Northwest on behalf of the Chamber states that Mercer County residents are receiving calls from a scammer pretending to be from the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce.

The scammer tells would-be victims that they owe a fee of $7.99.

Anyone who is contacted by someone claiming to be from the Chamber other than Executive Director Grace Reiter is urged not to give their personal information out.
