Twenty teens given 'Eagle of the Cross' award at Saint Columba Cathedral

Twenty teen leaders were honored at Saint Columba Cathedral Monday evening with the "Eagle of the Cross" award.

A news release states that this is the most prestigious award that can be bestowed on youth in the Diocese of Youngstown.

According to the release, the award was created by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) and introduced 27 years ago.

The award is given to high school juniors and seniors who model Catholic-Christian leadership amongst their peers, dedication to the faith and moral integrity for the Church, according to the release.
