Champ Park in Austintown adds new field, named 'Murphy Field' after long-time board member

According to a Facebook post from the Austintown Community Baseball page, a new baseball field has been announced at Champ Park in Austintown.

The field was named after long-time board member, Suzanne Murphy, who has been volunteering her time to Austintown Community Baseball for 20 years.

The field will be known as "Murphy Field" in her honor.

When asked about the potential impact that the new field will have on the Austintown baseball community, she said that the effect will be positive.

"We're able to accommodate for more games. We have 36 teams this year," said Murphy.

According to the Facebook post, the field will be used by the two youngest divisions of Austintown Community Baseball. This includes T-ball and coach pitch for both boys and girls.
