High pressure will briefly slide over the region on Wednesday, allowing for a bright and sunny final day of April. Temperatures will rise towards the mid-60s, not too far away from average for this time of year.
Skies will turn partly cloudy overnight as our next storm system starts to approach the region. A stray shower or two will be possible around daybreak as a warm front lifts north through the state.
Behind the front, milder and muggier air will move back in. High temperatures will reach the upper 70s during the afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. Showers and thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon, and a few storms could be strong to severe.
Showers will taper off Thursday evening, with skies remaining mostly cloudy for a time. A few showers will move back in around daybreak on Friday, and raindrops could be around at times throughout the day.
Rain will be more likely Friday night into Saturday morning, and cooler air will move in to start the weekend. High temperatures on Saturday will struggle to get out of the upper 50s, with showers hanging around for much of the day.
