Austintown Police are investigating a shooting in the 900 block of Compass West Wednesday night that happened around 8:10 pm.

Police were dispatched to a call of a shooting in the parking lot outside of Compass West Apartments, with an injured man lying in the grass outside near the parking lot.

A witness to the shooting told police that the alleged vehicle involved in the shooting was a dark color sedan that left the scene westbound on S. Edgehill Avenue.

Officers observed an apparent gunshot wound to the thigh on the victim's left side.

A person at the scene identified the alleged shooter as 20-year-old Isabella Repucci. Police stated they were called to the same address around 7:41 pm after receiving a call from Repucci alleging someone was "trying to block her in," but managed to get away. Repucci told officers a female jumped onto her vehicle, punched the front windshield and spat on the driver's side window.

According to the report, Repucci told officers a man threatened her with a gun, and the woman with him jumped onto her vehicle. An officer saw a group of five people heading to a dark gray vehicle being driven by Repucci. Repucci moved the vehicle up on S. Edgehill Avenue, where the officer spoke with Repucci, who told the officer this was over a $40 debt.

Thirty minutes later, officers were called back to the exact location of the shooting.

The victim was transported to the hospital.

According to the report, one witness told officers she allegedly observed Repucci walking outside of the building with a weapon. The witness said she grabbed her children and fled inside their apartment and took photos.

The report stated the images were of the suspect and the victim talking outside, and according to the officer's report, they allegedly showed Repucci with a gun.

The witness said she heard two shots fired.

The report stated that Repucci had turned herself in to Warren police. The report states that Repucci told officers the shooting was self-defense. Repucci was taken into custody and her vehicle was towed to the Austintown Police Department.

The report also said that the suspect was read her rights, and told officers where the gun was. The suspect took officers to the bike path on the west side of Charles and High streets, where a Springfield XD .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun was found.

Repucci is in the Mahoning County jail on charges of felonious assault - victim seriously harmed, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon.

Repucci has a hearing scheduled in Judge Scott Hunter's court on May 5 at 12:30 pm on the charges.
