Youngstown Police have arrested a man who was struck by a car while riding an electric bicycle along Meridian Road on Wednesday.

According to a police report, Sedrick Johnson’s bike was struck at the intersection of North Meridian Road and Oregon Avenue at around 2:30 p.m.

Responding officers found that the injured bicyclist had already been transported to the hospital by emergency medical services. His condition was not immediately available.

Police say the driver of the vehicle told them she was traveling northbound on Meridian Road when Johnson came out of a parking lot to her right, and the collision occurred.

She told police she did not see Johnson until the last moment.

While gathering information, officers discovered an active warrant for Johnson’s arrest for failure to appear on aggravated robbery charges. A police hold has been placed on Johnson.

The incident remains under investigation by the Youngstown Police Department.
