Activists across the United States took part in May Day protests Thursday.

The protests follow President Donald Trump's first 100 days of his second term in the White House.

The Valley saw its own May Day demonstration outside the Mahoning Valley Courthouse Thursday evening.

Their message was similar to others being held across the country, specifically working people rising against people of wealth and power.

Organizers say with all the changes and cuts by the government, people need to come together.

"As things progress, it's harming more and more people," Katelyn Desko, a local substitute teacher said. "Eventually we're going to have to come together and a community needs to build and form."

Other local groups have organized similar protests, including the "Hands Off" demonstrations, and one two weeks ago marking the anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord during the Revolutionary War.
