Martha Yoder, the Trumbull County Auditor has filed an appeal for the lawsuit she lost against Bazetta Township.

In a Facebook post made by Bazetta Township and shared by Bazetta Township trustee Michael Hovis, the post goes into detail about the financial burned this appeal will bring to both the Township and its residents.

"To date, we've been forced to spend $11,191 to recover your tax dollars she is statutorily required to deposit to Bazetta Township."

The ensuing legal battle of this appeal could last six month and cost taxpayers even more money.

This appeal was in response to a lawsuit filed by Bazetta after a scammer impersonated Bazetta's fiscal officer and sent an email asking the money to be transferred to a new bank account.

"Evidence submitted to the court revealed that Auditor Yoder did not educate or train her employees about payment redirect or email compromise schemes."Hovis explained, reading court findings.
