Shooting in Sharon sends four teens to the hospital

Sharon Police are investigating a shooting late Monday night.

Officers from Sharon and Farrell police responded to Baldwin Avenue, which is on the city's south side, around 10:35 p.m. Monday night.

The owner of the house where the shooting took place described the scene as scary, and chaotic.

"I was just getting a glass of water, getting ready to go to bed, and all the sudden, I heard a bunch of pop pop pop pop, and I was pretty sure it was gunshots, so I hit the floor," said Tristan Valerius of Sharon. "They came into a chaotic scene in the house because everybody that was on the porch, when the gunshots went off, everybody rushed into the house, trying to get away."

According to a press release, four people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police say that all the victims were attending a party at the residence on Baldwin Avenue when one or more suspects shot toward the residence.

The victims include two 18-year-old Farrell men, a 19-year-old Farrell man, and an 18-year-old Sharon woman. McGonigle Ambulance and Elite EMS responded to treat and transport the victims.

Valerius said he's been checking in with the families of the victims, who say they are doing well.

A press release from Sharon Police says the conditions of the victims are not known currently, but all are expected to survive.

21 News sent a crew to the home Tuesday, who saw bullet holes on the home. Valerius said his children were in the home during the shooting.

"Whoever did this, you just shot a whole house with a whole family in it. Grandkids, little babies, there was a six month year old baby in this house," said Valerius.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Police have not given the names of any suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact Sharon Police at 724-983-3210 or contact the Mercer County 911 Center's non-emergency at 724-662-6110.
