Grand jury gets case of juvenile shooting suspect

The Columbiana County Grand Jury is being asked to decide if there’s enough evidence to put a Wellsville man on trial for a shooting in that community.

Following a preliminary hearing held Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, the case of 20-year-old E’Mory Chiles was bound over to the grand jury.

Chiles is charged with felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and inducing panic.

The charges stem from an incident last month when a male juvenile was shot in the wrist along 18th Street near Nicholson Alley. 

Chiles remains held in the Columbiana County Jail on $500,000 bond.
