Teams will soon begin building their can creations at Eastwood Mall in Niles as part of "Canstruction," an event that benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
Teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers, businesses, professors, and teachers from Trumbull and Mahoning counties and students, clubs, and groups attending architecture, engineering, and design schools can participate.
The goal is to build structures made entirely of canned goods. The 2025 theme is "GAMES: Win The Battle Against Hunger".
The structures will be built on May 16, judged on May 17, and displayed at the mall from May 18 through August 17.
Once the can sculptures are taken down, the canned goods will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
