7/17 Credit Union and Mahoning Valley Scrappers announce multi-year partnership

The 7/17 Credit Union and the Mahoning Valley Scrappers announced in a news release a multi-year partnership.

7/17 Credit Union will become the official credit union and banking partner of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers according to the announcement.

As part of the collaboration, 7/17 Credit Union will offer giveaways and savings opportunities for guests at the Scrappers ballpark with a year-round focus on financial wellness.

In addition, a revamped 7/17 Dollar Dog Club was announced that will offer special incentives, including free tickets to Scappers' home games for new and existing account holders.

According to the announcement, a new credit card is being offered for Scrappers fans to use at the ballpark. The card is a part of the 7/17 CU Affinity Partners initiative.

With every swipe made with the card, 7/17 Credit Union will donate 7.17 cents back to the Scrappers for special programming such as youth outreach and ballpark improvements according to the announcement.

Cardholders could see benefits such as a $25 gift card if they apply within 30 days, pricing incentives and more according to the announcement.

Interested fans may apply for a Scrappers card at the 7/17 Credit Union website.

"The Mahoning Valley Scrappers bring a vibrant element to our communities - symbolizing pride, community goodwill and the preservation of high-level baseball in our region," said John Demmler, President and CEO of 7/17 Credit Union.

He continued," We love seeing the community come out and cheer for the home team. We're excited about the partnership and being able to show and reward fans for their loyalty, because as we believe, banking with purpose leads to stronger communities."

An announcement was also made within the release of 7/17 Credit Union set to host its second annual Financial Wellness Night at the ballpark.

The event will be held on July 17 at Eastwood Field.

According to the announcement, 7/17 Credit Union plans to present a drone show. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided to game attendees.

Tickets to the event are available exclusively through the Scrappers' box office beginning May 12 and are free.

The release states that members of 7/17 Credit Union can receive premium seating by showing proof of membership at the box office via a debit card, credit card or account statement.
