Motorcyclist ditches bike after 120 mph chase in Trumbull County; Leaves phone behind

Authorities hope a cell phone may lead them to a motorcyclist who led them on a chase through Trumbull County late Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies gave chase along Route 82 after a motorcycle was spotted traveling 120 miles per hour.

State Troopers joined the pursuit only to find that the driver had abandoned the bike along the side of the highway in Vienna and ran into the woods.

Even with the help of tracking dog, authorities were unable to find the motorcyclist following a search along Scoville North Road.

However, deputies also found a cell phone near the motorcycle, and are hoping information on the phone can lead them to the driver.
