The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of Juvar King, 46, of Warren, as a homicide.
King’s body was discovered on March 17 on the rear porch of an abandoned house near the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Terrace Road in East Cleveland, according to Detective Commander Joseph Marche. A construction crew cleaning the vacant residence found his body.
King had been missing since the afternoon of Feb. 4. His family had previously offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his whereabouts after he failed to pick up his children from school.
Following King's disappearance, his mother's 2007 Buick LaCrosse, last tracked near the intersection of Hayden and Shaw avenues in East Cleveland, was found intentionally set on fire on the 9300 block of Sherwood Road in Cleveland on Feb. 5.
Nathaniel Crockett, 28, of Cleveland, has been charged with arson in connection with the burned vehicle. However, as of Thursday, no charges have been filed in King's death.
East Cleveland police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for King's death.
Warren police also investigated King's disappearance.
