The Village of McDonald is seeking public comment on proposed renovations to Woodland Park, the village's central recreational area.
Plans call for upgrades to the park's basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, including new surfacing, painting, and equipment. The village is applying for funding through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources NatureWorks Program to support the project.
In addition to the court improvements, the village is considering the implementation of structured sports programming during the summer months. Potential programs could include youth skills camps, competitive tournaments, and health and wellness education. Village officials said these programs would build upon existing partnerships to offer opportunities for residents of all ages.
"We believe these improvements will help enhance quality of life for our residents and make McDonald an even better place to live, play, and raise a family," Mayor Ray Lewis said in a statement.
The village will accept public comment on the proposed park renovations for 14 days, until May 14. Comments can be submitted to the Village Offices via email at mcdofffice@zoominternet.net, by phone at 330-530-5472, or by mail to 451 Ohio Ave., McDonald, OH 44437.
