A Youngstown firefighter who had previously been placed on paid leave after he was charged for allegedly pointing a gun at multiple people including a Warren Township firefighter is now suspended without pay.
According to a letter from Youngstown Fire Chief Barry Finley dated May 6, firefighter Adaris Bellamy has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the complete resolution of his criminal case effective Friday, May 9.
The letter says this decision was made after "careful consideration" following Bellamy's pre-disciplinary hearing that took place April 9.
Bellamy is currently charged with two counts of aggravated menacing after he allegedly went to the Warren Township Fire Station and brandished a rifle in a sweeping motion at a firefighter there.
Bellamy is further accused of pulling up to a man and a woman at a food donation box near a bus station and pointing the gun at them as well.
According to court records, Bellamy is due back in court May 16.
