Hermitage woman dies following bicycle accident

A Hermitage woman has died following an accident while she was riding her electric bicycle on May 5 just after 1:30 p.m.

Hermitage Police were called to the intersection of Baker Avenue and Fern Street following a report of a bicycle accident. 

When officers arrived, they found Cindy Grgurich, 71, unconscious and showing an irregular breathing pattern.

Officers and two firefighters on scene administered CPR until Grgurich was taken to the hospital for advanced care by paramedics, according to a news release from the Hermitage Police Department.

Grgurich died shortly after.

An investigation done at the scene determined that Grgurich was riding her electric bicycle downhill on Fern Street when she continued through the intersection at Baker Street.

According to the news release, she struck a curb and was thrown from the bicycle.

She is reported to have been wearing a helmet and that there was heavy rainfall at the time of the incident.
